I grew up at 48th and University. Back when it was Wes' Market on the corner and native Iowan author Joe Forde worked as a grocery bagger there. I was never a golfer back then, but I most definitely was a champion snow sledder. I spent every winter day trudging up and down those Waveland hills...looking for the next fastest run on my Flexible Flyer. |

Superb municipal course. Great challenge for a 12 handicapper. Will be back in Des Moines next week and look forward to taking on the monster that is Waveland. Gotta love the view from the tee-box on the 3rd!! |

Waveland has to be one of the best courses in the Metro area! The course takes me back to another time. Great Old trees and great rolling hills. I could play hole two all day, Waveland will always be my first choice to meet up with the guy’s. |

Great course, miss the GPS system at Blank - all green fees should include an electric cart whether they choose to walk or ride. Otherwise this course one of the best in the state. |

Played a lot of golf there while a student at DRAKE (grad 1978). Remember it as a challenging course!!! Hit my first 400 yd drive there (summer 77 - 100+ degrees - BAKED fairway -- roll - roll - roll). Would love to play another round or two there sometime! |
